A Vision that Wavers Not
Founded in 1979 as a fabric weaving mill by Smt. Laxmi Murugesan, the daughter of the legendary Sri Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Chettiar.
The vision was to empower the local community, which had been deprived of opportunities to support their livelihoods.
Over the years, through perseverance and an unwavering belief in creating well-being for the people, our enterprise expanded into a composite unit by 2008.

Our Founder
In 1979, Smt Laxmi Murugesan, embarked on a remarkable journey by founding Paramount Textile Mills.
Fueled by a desire to contribute beyond homemaking, she faced societal norms and established a weaving unit in Thirali, near Madurai , Tamil Nadu, during challenging economic times. Overcoming obstacles such as female infanticide concerns and societal resistance, she worked tirelessly to employ women, now constituting 70% of the 1800 employees. Smt Laxmi's perseverance transformed the region, and Paramount Textile Mills stands as a testament to her vision.
A literature student, she champions Tamil culture and literature, emphasizing the impact of business on society. Today, her belief in "Customer Is Our God" resonates globally through premium brands and stores, showcasing the enduring legacy of her labor and vision.
